January 22nd we will be making the move to Sandy Bay, Jamaica! Just a 3 hour plane ride from Atlanta, yet a place that seems worlds away from our family and friends. This news brings many different emotions to the surface. We can't help but be excited, because this is where the Lord has called us. We can't help to be nervous, because there are so many uncertainties. We can't help to feel inferior, because we feel so unqualified. We can't help to be concerned, because we will be entering a culture completely different than our own. However, we do know that no matter our emotions God is in control, He has gone ahead of us and prepared our way. What a blessing that we can trust the One True God for our future and not have to rely on self.
...but the Lord was not in the wind. And after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. And after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire the sound of a low whisper. -1 Kings 19:11-12

Thanksgiving Blessings
With every Thanksgiving comes new blessings. Things that just a year earlier we could not thank God for, because He had not brought them to pass yet. His timing is perfect and this year Keith and I are very thankful for something new the Lord has done in our life.

Extension
As most of you know we were hoping to leave for Jamaica later this month. Unfortunately, we have not raised the monthly support needed to make the move. We have spent some time in prayer and have decided to extend our time here through the end of the year! So please join with us in praying that we will be able to make the move to Sandy Bay in January.
Our teammates Michael and Karen Smith and their two children are leaving August 20th. Please pray for them as they begin to lay the groundwork for our ministry and adjust to the culture! We cannot wait to be able to labor with them!
We are also excited because we just booked our tickets to Jamaica for September 10th-17th. We are sad that we will not be able to stay, but very excited that we may be able to begin our paperwork process and leave some items there in Sandy Bay. We have many things to learn and take care of while we are there, so please keep this in your prayers!
We are so grateful for those who have pledged to support our ministry monthly, as well as those who have give to our ministry! We cannot thank you enough! We are currently about halfway to our needed monthly support. Please join with us in praying that the Lord would continue to speak to people's hearts to support us monthly, as well as the Lord would open up opportunities to share our ministry!
Thank you so much for your prayers and support! God Bless! :)

In Transition
Unfortunately, it has been a long time since I have been able to post. These past weeks have been full of excitement and busyness. Keith and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary and we have been adjusting to living in Mentone with Keith's family until we can raise our full support.
Since we have been in Alabama we have been blessed to meet with our teammates Michael and Karen Smith and their 2 children. We have currently been working on a doctrine statement for the church we hope to plant in Sandy Bay. We would like to get most of the "paperwork" done and make sure we are all on the same page. The Smith's plan on leaving August 20th, and we pray that we will be able to go with them. However, that may not be the Lord's timing for us, and we trust that we will raise our support when He wants us there.
Many of you may be curious about where we are at now. We are currently at about 38% of the monthly support we need. We are praying that the Lord will speak to people's hearts to support us monthly so that we will be able to begin our ministry in Jamaica within the year.
Right now we are in a waiting stage. We are trying to find churches to speak at and partner with. Unfortunately it looks like a couple of the churches we were hoping to speak at have fallen through. So please pray that the Lord would open doors for us to share our ministry.
Please pray for us that we would stay focused on raising our support and that we will be able to raise our monthly support in a timely manner.
Thank you for all your prayers and support! May the Lord Bless you! :)

Spring Break
This past week was Keith's spring break, so we headed south to Alabama for a few days. While we were there we were able to meet up with Michael and Karen Smith and their two boys. For those of you who do not know, this is the family we will be living with upon arrival in Jamaica. We had a wonderful time sitting around and getting to know each other a little better. It was a great opprtunity to spend time brainstorming and planning for the opportunities of ministry in Sandy Bay. It also made us even more excited for August to arrive! (If that is the Lord's timing of course) :).
Please continue to pray for the following:
The Lord will speak to friends to support us monthly while we are in Sandy Bay, we would raise our support in a timely manner, the Lord would continue to prepare us for our future ministry.
God Bless!

We officially have a Missionary Agency! :)
For those of you who may not know, we have been planning/preparing for the mission field. Lord willing, we will be making the move to Sandy Bay, Jamaica! Which is nothing like what comes to most people's minds when they hear the word Jamaica. Sandy Bay is a place where little boys roam the streets, poverty is the norm, electricity and water come and go, and of course where it is always hot and humid (something I will definitely have to adjust to). However, the Lord has made it clear time and time again that is where He wants us, so that is where we shall go!
While we are there we will be working with Alpha Step Pre and Prep school throughout the week, along with making contacts in the community. What better place to start than with the children and their parents? I will be taking over the school's finances, Keith and I will be teaching a Bible class, possibly doing some after school mentoring and Keith will be helping with the upkeep of the facilities. Our ultimate goal will be to assist Michael and Karen Smith with a church plant. However, for the first year we are there we plan to attend Bay Life Baptist, (a new church plant in Montego Bay) and learn a little bit more about church planting from our wonderful friends the Titus'.
We are so excited to be able to announce that we now have a missionary agency assisting us!! World Outreach Ministries will be our stateside office. They will send tax deductible receipts to our supporters and facilitate Online donations to our account. So please make sure you direct all future support to their office and designate it for our account!
We are thrilled that we can now begin raising our support!
Please continue to pray for us as follows:
1. That we will raise our support in a timely manner (the Lord's timing of course!)
2. The Lord will continue to prepare us for the mission field
3. That we will adjust to the culture once we are there
4. That we will make contacts in Sandy Bay once we are there
5. Our friends the Smiths' who we will be partnering/living with, as they are also in the process of raising support
This is just a starting list! Please pray for us as the Spirit leads you to!
If any of you have questions about our plans please feel free to ask us! We love to talk about what we feel the Lord has called us to do! Thank you for your prayers and support! :) You can send us a message on facebook or email us at millerk8889@gmail.com.
God Bless! :)

The Beginning
As most people know we are planning on making the move to Jamaica within the next year. With that being said, there are many things we must take care of before we can leave. Where are we in the process? At the beginning.
The Lord blessed us with a "survey trip" to Sandy Bay in November. It was my first trip to the country and I immediately fell in love with it (despite the not so comfortable, normal accommodations). The people there hold a special place in my heart that will never go away until I am able to minister to them.
We get asked the question all the time about our process. Like I mentioned above we are at the beginning. Where is that? Why, I am glad you asked! :)
Keith just started his last semester of college here at Appalachian Bible College! He will be finishing up in May and following we will be leaving for Alabama for the summer (most likely). Our target date to get to the place we call home (Sandy Bay, Jamaica) is the first of August. We know this is going to be tough, but with the Lord all things are possible and we are trusting that He will get us there in His perfect timing.
We are in the process of putting together our first support/prayer letter! So any advice or input would be very helpful and greatly appreciated.
